Apple Pie

"Keep my commandments and live; keep my teaching as the apple of your eye" (Prov. 7:2).

Teaching the Word here in Moldova is what keeps us motivated and full of joy.

"And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also" (2 Timothy 2:2).

One of the best ways to enjoy nice crisp apples is to make a delicious apple pie! Teaching here in the Christian University is like eating apple pie for us because we get the joy of teaching students who are serious about serving our Lord. Helping students to keep the teachings of the Lord is the "apple of our eyes" and we are thankful for this fulfilling ministry.

Recently, Rich asked one of the students who is getting ready to graduate this May what he planned to do upon return to his limited access country. He said that he hopes to start a new church. Testimonies like this make all the prayers and investment worth it! May the Lord allow this young man to see his dreams become reality and may this desire continue to multiply among many of our students here in Moldova. Not every student is called to be a church planter, but all are called to serve in their local churches wherever they may be. Please do continue to pray for these future leaders and for us as we teach and mentor them.

Graduation will be upon us in the Spring and our return tickets to the US are set for the end of May of this year. Barring any unforseen circumstances, we are planning to return to Pennsylvania and seek the Lord's will for us next year and beyond. We have already received an informal invitation to return to Moldova to continue teaching at the University and our dear brethren at the Imago Dei Baptist Church would also like us to continue partnering with them.

The Imago Dei church is maturing in a wonderful way and we are striving to help the church become as independent as possible before May. However, that doesn't mean that help is not needed should the Lord direct us back to Moldova for another term. Please continue to pray that the Lord would give us clear direction concerning the next steps in our amazing journey with Him.

We are anticipating the blessing of celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary in March. The Lord has been so good to us over these years and has showered His love on us in more ways than we can count. Praise Him with us!

It was a blessing to celebrate the baptism of a college age believer a couple of weeks ago. The church is growing in number and in spiritual maturity as the Lord continues to bless. Mihai is growing as a young pastor and also learning much in his Masters program. Please keep praying for the church as it increases in the wisdom and knowledge of Christ.

Rich just completed a ten week stewardship SS class at Imago Dei. By God's grace, the believers will soon be experiencing the blessings of true prosperity and great spiritual blessings.

Jo Ann is still teaching 3 classes of English at the University and Rich is continuing the course on Discipleship in and for the Local Church. Together we taught a 4 week segment of Biblical Theology of the Family with emphasis on the missionary family which was fun to do together. The students seemed to enjoy it as well.

As we close this update, we couldn't resist including the latest angel sightings at Mihai and Irina's house. Thank you for your faithful prayers and generous financial support as we labor for the expansion of the Gospel in Eurasia.
