The Rest of the Story . . .

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Phil 1:6)

Still Going

Our last news/prayer letter mentioned that we were scheduled for routine medical check-ups. It’s taken several weeks to complete the adventure, but the good news is that we actually are as good as we feel. Passing this milestone is a blessing and we are ready to go for another 100,000 miles! Praise the Lord for the physical exams and the excellent reports.

Jo Ann was able to squeeze in several physical therapy sessions this summer and is feeling much stronger and more confident in walking and getting around. These weeks back in the USA have been refreshing, encouraging and nurturing in every respect.

Each summer, ABWE hosts the Missionary Enrichment Conference (ME) which provides a platform for accomplishing many things all of which are intended to enrich and encourage missionaries. While mission leaders go to great lengths to offer outstanding training, vital informational sessions,  fantastic preaching and soul-stirring music among other things, it’s the informal time which is often the highlight when reflecting back. Reconnecting with fellow missionaries from all over the world is precious. The fellowship was sweet and we left the conference greatly blessed and refreshed.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch . . .

Life did not stop in Moldova while we were gone. The team at Imago Dei worked hard on a couple of outreach ministries.

First, an excellent mission’s team from the US joined our Moldovan team to offer the very first VBS ever hosted by the Imago Dei church plant. Children from all over our neighborhood came every day and several seemed to understand the Gospel message. By God’s grace, these children will join us each week to continue growing in Christ. Click here to see a few fun pictures of VBS.

The next outreach required an even greater effort as Mihai, Irina and the team prepared and ran our first week-long summer camp. Because the Imago Dei group is still small, we needed more experienced workers to help with the over 65 young people who attended the camp. The Lord blessed in a wonderful way and co-laborers from a sister church in Chișinău (Speranța) came to help. Another blessing was that the David and Brandi Prairie were able to come from the US with their children. The Prairies are ABWE missionaries who have been called by the Lord to serve with us in Moldova and are on Pre-field ministries just now. Please do pray that the Lord would provide all they need to live and serve on the field of Moldova with us. Click here to see what a blast camp 2019 was!

The Prairies were not the only international workers to join Mihai, Irina and the team for the camp. A wonderful couple from Ukraine also arrived which completed the excellent team of camp workers. The week was full of high energy activities and great preaching and teaching. The theme of the camp was “Narnia” and the Gospel was clearly presented throughout the week. Please do pray for these young people that the Word might produce fruit in their lives. All of the young people came from the neighborhood around the Imago Dei church and now we need prayer that they will grow in their desire to know Christ better and worship the Lord with us each week along with their parents and siblings.

Back in the Saddle

It’s been a very fruitful summer and now we are ready to get back to our normal ministries in Moldova. We are looking forward to teaching at the Christian University (UDG) as well as the extension campus just outside of town. We are also, looking forward to rejoining the Imago Dei team to continue the task of establishing the church. Perhaps the Lord would have new ministries for us to develop too!

Our return tickets to Chișinău are set for August 6. Please do pray for us as we travel and as we jump back into a full ministry schedule once again. We are so thankful for all the prayer that is offered on our behalf and also for the faithful giving that makes it possible for us to continue serving in this way. Some may wonder how our support is doing and we wanted to say that there is a need to come back to the required level. Please pray that the Lord would provided what is needed.
